Home Game in Columbus

Hearing a “Let’s Go Pens” chant in Nationwide Arena on TV?  Awesome. Hearing a “Mason” chant? Icing on the cake.

The Steelers are typically the Pittsburgh team that gets the most attention for having a fan base that travels well. Following a hockey team on the road is a little harder, given that they play 82 games during a season versus 16. But wow, have Pens fans been showing up at away games. And last night’s game in Columbus may be comparable to the Steeler fan invasion of FedEx Field when the Steelers played the Washington Redskins on a Monday night in November 2008.

Traveling fans aside, what an incredible game. We rolled. Sid scored two more goals, and Goddard even scored. You know it’s a good game when he gets a goal.

First thing on the 2011 agenda for me: buy tickets to the Columbus game and plan road trip (crossing fingers they play there again next year).

Home against the Devils on Monday. I think taunting Kovalchuk would be excellent. 10 in a row? GO PENS. DO IT.
